And by the time you finish reading this column, there’s a good chance yet another tool will pop-up.

Tool #175 on the list is “AI Writer,” a ChatGPT plugin.

It’s designed to work seamlessly with WordPress — the world’s most popular Web site authoring tool.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, no worries.

You can read on to find one that does amongst the other 174 AI writing tools detailed.

*In-Depth Guide: ChatGPT Plus: The reviews on ChatGPT Plus — the $20-a-month version of ChatGPT — are starting to roll in. And they’re generally positive.

ChatGPT Plus offers users access to the most sophisticated version of ChatGPT, based on GPT-4 software.

Santrel Media says this higher-end software is smarter, more collaborative and features better reasoning than earlier versions of GPT.

And Marketing Island echoes Santrel’s findings, adding that it can better handle clever Prompts come up with to trigger its automated writing.

Corey McClain agrees with the other reviewers, adding that GPT-4 is also better at handling a complex list of Prompts than its predecessors.

My own experience with ChatGPT Plus — when it’s run on the GPT-4 software selection — is the same.

ChatGPT Plus is definitely very smart, better attuned to what you’re looking for and is significantly more adept at auto-generating tightly written, engaging, extremely on-point prose than its predecessors — as long as you use the right Prompts.

One note: ChatGPT Plus also enables you to run the auto-writer on two previous versions of GPT software.

But in my view, this option only comes in handy if you’ve run-out-of credits needed to run the chatbot on GPT-4.

Essentially: You can only run ChatGPT on GPT-4 software for 25 messages.

Then you have to wait three hours before you can run the tool on GPT-4 for another 25 messages.

(In the meantime, you can still run ChatGPT on two previous versions of GPT software.)

Bottom line: ChatGPT Plus offers users access to the most sophisticated, state-of-the art, commercially available, automated writing software on the market.

Moreover, ChatGPT Plus — and its underlying AI software — can be licensed by virtually any developer or company looking to create its own app for AI writing and/or similar.

If you’re serious about tracking the state of AI writing, ChatGPT Plus absolutely needs to be in your toolbox.

~generate content ideas — as well as copy for those ideas

~rewrite top-performing content

~summarize the gist of a post or article into a social media post — and more

OwlyWriter AI is currently free-to-use for Hootsuite subscribers

*New AI App Designed to Get Your Emails Past the Spam Filters: Marketers looking to get past spam blockers with legitimate email marketing will want to check-out Inboxbooster.

It’s a new startup based in San Francisco that recently snagged $1 million in funding for a tool that promises to make mincemeat out of unwarranted blocking of email messages.

Specifically, Inboxbooster enables marketers to businesses monitor their email messages that are flagged as spam, determine why those messages have been branded that way — and receive insight on actions they can take to neutralize the problem.

*The Future of Outreach?: New Automated Email Tool For
Financial Advisors:
Catchlight has released a new email marketing tool that financial advisors can use to promote their services to prospective clients.

“Our AI-generated emails let advisors do something that might have seemed impossible only a few years ago: Automating personalized outreach that is similar to a thoughtful, hand-written note,” says Yelena Malmed, head-of-product, Catchlight.

Founded in 2020, Catchlight’s mission is to help financial advisors be more efficient in promoting and converting leads into new clients.

*ChatCFO: AI’s New ‘Best Friend with Benefits’ for CFOs: Sturppy has released a prototype tool that can be used by CFOs for rudimentary analysis, dubbed ChatCFO.

“It’s not quite a robot CFO yet. It’s probably not even a junior analyst yet — but these are the seeds of what that will be,” says Glenn Hopper, director, Eventus Advisory Group.

“If I am the CFO, I’m not going to be replaced by this technology.” Hopper adds.

“But if I’m thinking strategically — and I know the kinds of questions to ask — then this is a powerful tool.”

*Fiction Re-imagined: The Rise of AI-Authored Novels: Author Steven Marche has put together a new novella — written mostly by AI — appropriately titled, “Death of an Author.”

Says Marche: “I am the creator of this work, 100%. But, on the other hand, I didn’t create the words.”

Instead, three AI writing tools did all the heavy wordsmithing: ChatGPT, Sudowrite and Cohere.

Impressive, for sure.

But such tools have also triggered the Authors Guild to start pushing for legal and policy changes that balance the use of AI with human authorship.

*New York Times Columnist Catches the ChatGPT Bug: Writer Farhad Manjoo is so jazzed about ChatGPT, he already uses the tool daily.

Observes Manjoo: “Once you start using ChatGPT you pretty much can’t stop.”

“Only a few times in my life have I experienced this creeping sense of possibility with a new technology.

“The last time was the iPhone.

“The others were probably Google search — and the Internet itself.”

*Microsoft’s Prototype AI Chip: The Next Brain Behind ChatGPT’s Brawn?: In a move that could further solidify Microsoft’s already impressive footprint in AI, the Redmond goliath now has its own prototype AI computer chip.

The new tech is currently being tested by small groups of employees from Microsoft and OpenAI — the maker of ChatGPT.

Currently, Nvidia dominates the AI chip market.

*AI Big Picture: Sleepless in Silicon Valley: ‘AI Keeps Me Up at Night,’ says Google CEO: It’s definitely disturbing when one of the top ten influencers in AI worries about where the technology is heading.

But that’s the world we live in now.

Says Sundar Pichai, Google CEO: “It can be very harmful if deployed wrongly.

“We don’t have all the answers there yet.

“And the technology is moving fast.

“So does that keep me up at night? Absolutely.”
