Power User Play: All Your AI Tools in One Place

Expert users of multiple AI auto-writers, imagers and video-makers may want to check-out a new service that offers access to all those tools from a single, centralized dashboard.

Dubbed BlendAI, the new platform — which offers one-stop access to popular AI tools like ChatGPT, Mistral and Stable Diffusion — also enables you to do side-by-side comparisons and ‘shoot-outs’ of those tools.

BlendAI is also pitching savings: Sign-up for the service, and you’ll probably spend less money aggregating with BlendAI than attempting to subscribe to a variety of these AI tools separately.

*In-Depth Guide: Rebel With a Cause: Elon’s Would-Be ChatGPT-Killer: Writer Kyle Wiggers has put together an in-depth look at Grok — Elon Musk’s answer to ChatGPT.

It’s generally conceded that ChatGPT is a superior auto-writer to Grok.

But Wiggers says one of Grok’s key selling points is its willingness to auto-write about highly controversial subjects.

Plus, Grok also allows language that may give some people the vapors.

*Cheaper Than Humans: AI’s Latest Auto-Writing Bargain: AI writing pioneer Writesonic is out with yet another upgrade to its software — this time promising factually accurate articles powered by real-time data.

Writesonic boasts that an article written with its software can be ready in less than five minutes.

Plus, the article is automatically optimized for search engine discovery (SEO).

Moreover, Writesonic insists its writing tool is significantly cheaper than hiring a human writer to do the same work.

Hooray?

Observes Samanyou Garg, founder, Writesonic: “Our vision has always been to democratize access to advanced AI content creation tools.

“AI Article Writer 6.0 is a testament to this vision, offering an unprecedented blend of research depth, customization and SEO capabilities.”

*’Death-Blow’ to News?: AI That Juggles Both Politics and Pizzas: AI-powered search engine Perplexity — already seen by some as a threat to traditional news outlets — is adding restaurant reviews to its news/data mix.

CEO Aravind Srinivas announced that Perplexity will be sourcing that data under a new deal cut with Yelp!, a well-established business reviews Web site.

Observes magazine editor Carmine Starino, who sees Perplexity’s ability to summarize breaking news as an existential threat to traditional news outlets: “This tool is perhaps the single most terrifying development I have seen in my twenty-two years as a magazine editor.”

*Apple Mulls iPhone Upgrade: Is that an Automated Writing Device in Your Pocket — Or Are You Just Happy to See Me?: Although heavily invested in its own AI research, Apple is currently in talks to add Google’s Gemini AI writer and more to the iPhone.

Observes lead writer Tripp Mickle: “Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive, has promised investors that the company will introduce new generative AI capabilities this year.

“The company’s smartphone rivals — Samsung and Google — have already added Gemini to their newest devices to edit videos and summarize audio recordings.”

*Open-Sourcing AI’s Future: Eyeing the astounding success of OpenAI — ChatGPT’s maker — a number of AI heavy hitters and start-ups are challenging ChatGPT by open-sourcing their AI code.

May firms and researchers have been open-sourcing — or giving away the code to their apps for free — for decades now.

Observes writer Belle Lin: “Open-source software firms have traditionally made money by charging for services that make their technologies easier for businesses to use, said Joseph Jacks, founder of OSS Capital, a venture-capital firm that funds open-source startups.

“Open-source AI companies say they also can turn a profit by selling business-grade services and applications on top of their open models.”

Ironically, OpenAI was founded as an open-source start-up — only to change its mission later to a proprietary, for-profit company.

Ergo, its name, OpenAI.

*Robot Lawyers’ Promise: Killer Docs, No Drama: VixionX group has rolled-out a new AI copilot for lawyers that helps automate and simplify the creation of legal documents, dubbed Optillus Legal AI.

Observes Joshua Tutu, founder, Optillus: “Optillus Legal AI empowers legal professionals, enabling them to efficiently create well-researched briefs and relieving the stress linked with tight timelines.

“Overcoming the common challenge of crafting persuasive legal arguments that address intricate issues while ensuring clarity, our AI copilot serves to amplify creativity and streamline the process of connecting people with exceptional experiences.”

*AI Legal Summaries Now a Click Away: Legal startup descrybe.ai is now offering free access to AI-automated summaries of all state supreme court and appellate court opinions.

Observes writer Bob Ambrogi: “descrybe.ai describes its mission as democratizing access to legal information and leveling the playing field in legal research — particularly for smaller-firm lawyers, journalists and members of the public.

“It uses AI to generate summaries of court opinions and make them searchable.

*The AI Solution for Doc Disarray?: Kodak Alaris is out with a new upgrade of AI software designed to auto-process unstructured documents.

“And we continue to grow our capabilities in IDP.

“The combination of award-winning IDP software and document scanners from Kodak Alaris transforms operational efficiency for our customers and partners.”

*AI Big Picture: AI’s Talking Heads: The Latest News — With All the Warmth of a Server Farm: A novelty just a year ago, AI-animated news anchors — often provided with news written by AI — are popping-up with increasing regularity across-the-Web.

Essentially, these virtual news anchors mimic the voicing and mannerisms of human news anchors.

But they never need a coffee break. And they never need to spend hours in the make-up chair.

This piece offers a great, representative sampling of the AI anchors currently delivering the news across-the-globe.

Countries already ‘AI anchor-enabled’ include India, Kuwait, Malaysia and Greece.
